As the founder and leader of Kogan Wealth Management, Ron Kogan strives to assist high-net-worth investors with their complex financial needs by applying creative solutions to grow, preserve, and perpetuate family wealth for future generations.
Ron grew up in a family that owned and operated a manufacturing business. His upbringing taught him the importance of hard work, entrepreneurship, and protecting capital in challenging environments. When he decided to join the financial services industry, he wanted to help similar families, with complicated wealth needs. In 1996, with this goal in mind, Ron founded a practice of his own, now called Kogan Wealth Management.
Ron’s approach proved successful early in his career. Almost three decades later, Ron is well regarded within RBC Dominion Securities and among his clients. His affinity and respect for entrepreneurs, from business owners to health care practitioners, has led to some of his most cherished productive and enduring client relationships.
As a Senior Portfolio Manager, Ron is licensed to provide advisor-managed investing for your goals – which has been key to his clients’ success. This means he has the experience and academic background required to manage investments on behalf of his clients, with their unique needs in mind. And, true to his generalist approach, Ron’s services extend far beyond investing. He and his team work closely with experts in business planning, insurance, trusts, Wills & estates, and private banking to provide increasingly sophisticated strategies that grow and preserve wealth. Most importantly, Ron does all of this with an intimate understanding of each client’s unique goals, priorities, and concerns.
Originally from Montreal, Ron graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in political science. With a keen interest in business-building, he went on to earn an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College in Massachusetts, graduating cum laude. Babson College is known for its real-world experiential and collaborative learning environment, which cultivates an entrepreneurial mindset in its students, so they can become leaders equipped to make a difference. Ron has become such a leader – one committed to building trusted client partnerships and delivering value and growth to support their financial future.
Married with two children, Ron is an avid road biker and downhill skier. He is very active in the community and supports The Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids), Queen’s University, and The Bishop Strachan School.
